Anne Bartlett
Anne Bartlett is a South Australian writer.
She is best known for her novel Knitting; a novel, published in 2005 by Houghton Mifflin USA and Penguin Australia, and in 2006 by Penguin UK, and written as the creative component of a creative writing PhD at the University of Adelaide. Knitting was longlisted for the Miles Franklin Award in 2006, and the Bolinda audio book was shorlisted for an
Audie Award in 2007.
It is also available as a Bolinda audio book. Anne's teaching and writing was interrupted for many years by severe cardiomyopathy which eventually necessitated a heart trasnplant - a gift for which she is very grateful. Anne spent her childhood in the Murray Mallee and then the Adelaide Hills. After several decades in the hills, she and her husband Russell have moved back to inner city Adelaide. where they began life together.. They have four adult children.
